I can’t honestly play the victim in this post. I have been blessed with opportunities to become acquainted with some of the kindest and most professional lawyers and law students. But, I’ve also met lawyers who should not be described as either professional or kind. And the contrast is boggling.
I would like to remind every lawyer and law student that many law students eventually become lawyers. I remember how I was treated by lawyers when I was a first year law student. The names and faces of those who were rude, dismissive, or demanding stand out in my memory. It seems that some lawyers take it upon themselves to haze (emotionally, financially, and temporally) lawyers-to-be.
I suppose there’s not much of a point (or much anger) to this one. Just a simple reminder that each person who enters law school is deserving of personal respect.
